Before & After

If there's one thing I love, its taking something that is past it's prime and giving it a second life. Garage sales, thrift stores & Grandma's storage shed (AKA: her garage. Shes a bit of a hoarder) are my most favorite places to find treasures.  This is my most recent little project; Mirror found at DI, real wood frame, super heavy! With a $10 price tag, it had my name written all over it. Dalton was with me when I spotted it across the store and he was doubtful, but he just couldn't see the vision I had for this expired little guy. He did carry it to the car for me. Thanks, brother.

I decided to finally invest in an electric sander! Best purchase so far of 2013. I don't know why I didn't buy this sooner- all those hours of sanding by hand on previous projects suddenly makes me angry.

I decided to go with a tangerine orange called Hook Shot by Disney, and then a bright white, high gloss trim.
Steve is the master at paint tape. Base boards? Yep. Ceiling edges? You betcha. All my little projects with weird angles and trims? Oh ya. He's done it all.

Didn't it turn out cute? I love the white detail on the inside of the oval cutouts. Sorry for the awkward selfie, there isn't really an easy way to take a picture of a mirror.
I'm thinking this will be cute in a nursery... :)

Here are a couple of my older projects:

BEFORE:  This night stand was my mother's. I believe she initially purchased it at a garage sale. It was off-white and super dirty.

AFTER:  I went with a deep green, which I loved at the time but now I'm thinking of maybe giving it a makeover.

BEFORE: This was a little treasure I found in my Grandma's garage. I am so in love with the simple design on the doors.

AFTER:  I chose the same green as the night stand so that they would would match with our bed between them.

I have a few more projects I'm working on, so stay tuned!
